Community involvement has always been an important part of who we are. From serving patients here in Austin to volunteering with dental outreach programs across Texas and beyond, our Austin dentists and team are passionate about using our skills, time, and resources to help others smile with confidence.

Mission of Mercy

Dr. Alyssa Dawson and Dr. Trenton Dawson have worked with the state’s Mission of Mercy program, which helps provide free dental care to underserved communities throughout Texas.

Through Mission of Mercy events, dental professionals volunteer their time to help patients who may not have regular access to dental treatment. These events often include services such as dental exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other urgent dental care for individuals and families in need.

For many patients, these outreach events can provide relief from dental pain, help prevent more serious oral health issues, and create access to care that may have otherwise been out of reach.

Dr. Alyssa Dawson and Dr. Trenton Dawson have also traveled internationally with the Hands of Mercy clinic, serving communities in places such as Jamaica and Bolivia.



These dental mission trips are centered around providing care to communities with limited access to dental services. Mission work may include helping patients with urgent dental needs, treating dental infections or pain, providing restorative care when possible, and offering education about oral health and prevention.

For Groovy Dental, this work is about more than dentistry. It is about showing compassion, meeting people where they are, and helping individuals feel seen, cared for, and supported.

Groovy Dental is proud to be part of the Austin community. In addition to dental mission work, our team enjoys supporting local schools, community organizations, and neighborhood programs whenever possible.



We believe a dental office should be more than a place people visit for appointments. It should be a positive part of the community it serves. Whether we are caring for families in our office, supporting local students, or volunteering outside the office, our goal is to make a meaningful impact.

Groovy Dental also welcomes opportunities for pre-dental students to shadow in our office and gain experience as they prepare for dental school applications.



By allowing students to observe patient care, dental procedures, and the day-to-day flow of a dental practice, we hope to encourage and support the next generation of dental professionals.
